What kind of oil does a 2013 Hyundai Sonata need?

Hello,
I have a car with a 2.4L engine. I use 5W-20 Full Synthetic Oil. I live in a hot place, but winters are not too cold, around 35-42 degrees Fahrenheit. My car uses about 1 quart of oil every 2,500 - 3,500 miles. It has 78,000 miles on it, and it’s in great condition with no leaks. It passed all the tests related to engine recalls for Hyundai 2.4L engines. Should I check anything else, or would it be better to try using 5W-30 or 10W-30 oil instead?

Your current oil consumption and car condition seem normal.

Sticking with 5W-20 full synthetic oil is good for your hot climate and mild winters.

For your 2013 Hyundai Sonata with a 2.4L engine, the recommended oil is SAE 5W-20 full synthetic motor oil. The oil is suitable as it provides good flow at lower temperatures and adequate protection during the hotter months.
Always ensure to check your owner’s manual or consult with a Hyundai dealer or a trusted mechanic if you are considering changing the oil type, as they can provide personalized advice based on your specific vehicle’s condition and your driving habits.
