2023 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid SEL
Hyundai has some great-looking cars for the price.
My Sonata looks like a luxury car from the outside. The design is top-notch, the lines are sleek, and the wheels are just insane. When I look at other mid-sized cars like Honda and Toyota, my Sonata really stands out. The 2023 Sonata Hybrid is reliable too. I have high hopes for its performance!

I’d consider getting one if the hybrid had AWD. We need it for our driveway. My husband prefers sedans too.

Fun fact: the former Lamborghini designer, Luc Donckerwolke, who designed the Lamborghini Murciélago, worked on the Sonata and other Hyundai models.
Why do people feel the need to trash talk the brand? If you’re not a fan, why are you even here?
I used to have a 2017 Chevy Malibu that was always in the shop for warranty repairs. Am I going to hate on every Chevy? Maybe not, but I’m not going to go around trashing every model just because I had a bad experience.
I’ve had five Hyundais. My current 2020 Elantra has almost 50k miles, and I haven’t had a single issue. The worst thing I’ve dealt with was replacing a radiator on my 2003 Elantra when it overheated at over 100k miles.

Oh man, I just HAVE to tell you about my Tucson that blew its transmission back in 2004! /s

Did you ever change the transmission fluid? 180,000 miles and no fluid change will do that.
Hyundai had the Veloster in 2014, so I’d believe it.

The Veloster looked like a squished banana.

I actually love the look of the latest Veloster, especially the N model.

It looks like any other car on the road to me. What makes it stand out to you?

The catfish front on this year’s Sonata definitely stands out.

You’re right. I can see the resemblance to the Toyota Supra in the Sonata.

Looks more like a 2004 Ford Taurus to me.

This is what I don’t like about Korean cars—they all look the same, no character. It’s been like this for decades. Their design choices can be odd too, like bright blue radio screens that are too harsh at night (i30 GD) or cruise control on the wrong side of the steering wheel. It’s as if they never actually test drive their cars.
Some of the newer models, like the Ioniq, make you replace the whole front end if a headlight goes out. They used to make really reliable cars, but now it feels like they’re adding dumb stuff, like paid subscriptions for features.

No hate towards the Sonata, but I don’t get posts like this. Do you live in a town full of 90s cars? Nothing about this car screams luxury to me.
Back in 2014? Try two decades ago.
Buy it for the looks, because that’s all it’s got going for it.
