Sorry, I forgot to mention that the engine won’t start at all.
People might joke here, but we all start somewhere. Try jumping the battery, and take it to a local shop to test it for free. If you need to replace it, you can do it yourself with a basic tool set.
Unfortunately, I’m past the beginner phase. I’m just tired and sometimes make mistakes. I already tested the battery and it’s good. I didn’t get to check the alternator yet, but I will this afternoon. Thanks for being helpful.
If the battery is fine, it’s probably not the alternator.
I don’t think it is, but I want to rule everything out. If I have to tow it to the dealer, I want to make sure they don’t take advantage of me.
If you want to avoid getting taken advantage of, buy an OBD II Scanner. It can help you check for any codes. If it’s not the battery or starter, it should give you more info.
I have one in my service truck, but I have to wait until after work to use it.

That’s not accurate. If the battery is low, it could be the alternator. What’s your reasoning?

He said he tested the battery and it’s good. If the battery is good, the alternator was likely charging it. If it’s not even cranking, it’s obviously not the alternator. Replacing it won’t fix the no start issue.
I was in a rush and forgot to add that the engine won’t start. It goes into accessory mode and then won’t do anything. I had it running with remote start, then it wouldn’t start up when I tried again half an hour later. I checked the battery, belts, and fluids. I have a battery tester that checks voltage and amps. I know how to do it right from my work with equipment. I have an OBD but didn’t have it on me and will plug it in later to check for codes. I forgot to check the fuses but will do that later. There’s no noise when trying to start. My nearest dealer is far away, and I’d have to tow it, which I can do but would prefer not to. I have tools and some experience, but I’m more familiar with older trucks. That’s why I’m asking for ideas here. By the way, I’m female, not male. I called the best mechanic in town, but they’re booked for months. The other shop is owned by someone I don’t want to support. I live in a rural area and have limited options. This isn’t my daily driver.

It might be a problem with the starter motor. Either the starter gear isn’t engaging or the motor isn’t turning the flywheel. You might have broken wiring or a blown fuse, or you may need to replace the starter.

Call your dealer; you might not need to take it there. A licensed mechanic closer to you can help. This should be covered under warranty.
Just throwing this out there. When you try to start it, do you have your foot on the brake? My dad borrowed my car and got stuck because he didn’t press the brake pedal first.

I checked everything and can’t find any issues. It rained heavily last night, and when I started my car this morning, all the lights turned on. My nearest dealer is two hours away, so I want to see if I can fix this myself.
This usually happens with a low battery. Did you leave the lights on last night?

No, the lights were off. I tested the battery, and it’s fine.

You keep saying the battery is fine. What’s the actual data? Voltage, amps, etc. Good isn’t a measurement. Have you tried tapping the starter while cranking?

I know what you’re saying. I’m an industrial mechanic and test batteries regularly. It’s a push start, so I can’t crank it in the usual way.
