Wondering why all these lights are on in my 2023 Kona SEL

I checked everything and can’t find any issues. It rained heavily last night, and when I started my car this morning, all the lights turned on. My nearest dealer is two hours away, so I want to see if I can fix this myself.

Is the engine on, or are you just in accessory mode?

I was thinking the same thing, seems like there’s no RPM.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that the engine won’t start at all.

That’s a big detail to leave out. Does it make any sound when you try to start it?

I know, it’s too early for this. No noise at all. I’ve checked the belts, fluids, and battery. Next, I need to check the fuses, but that will have to wait until after work.

Do you hear any clicking? You might have a dead battery that can power accessories but not start the car.

No click, but I checked the battery, and it’s fine.

How did you check it? Did you use a multimeter?

I checked it and it was fuzzy.

Just connect the right terminals.

Sounds like you got it figured out.

I used a battery tester, the same one I use for work, which shows all the relevant info, not just good or bad. Then I checked the charge.

How did you check that?

With the battery tester I mentioned, it shows all the important info.

People might joke here, but we all start somewhere. Try jumping the battery, and take it to a local shop to test it for free. If you need to replace it, you can do it yourself with a basic tool set.

Unfortunately, I’m past the beginner phase. I’m just tired and sometimes make mistakes. I already tested the battery and it’s good. I didn’t get to check the alternator yet, but I will this afternoon. Thanks for being helpful.

If the battery is fine, it’s probably not the alternator.

I don’t think it is, but I want to rule everything out. If I have to tow it to the dealer, I want to make sure they don’t take advantage of me.

Just call roadside assistance and get it towed. The alternator charges the battery, but it doesn’t start the car.

I know what an alternator does. I just don’t want to deal with the bad towing companies in my area. If I need to, I’ll tow it myself.

Towing companies can be strange. The best ones usually aren’t contracted with the city. I had a bad experience trying to get my old car towed, and the guy was super vague about costs.

I mentioned roadside assistance like CAA. It’s usually affordable and reliable. I wouldn’t hire any towing company directly; they tend to be too expensive.

I have roadside through my insurance, but they won’t tow it because the dealer is too far away. So I might have to pay for the tow.
