Background: I previously owned a new 2016 Dodge Dart that I bought for over $18,000. My credit back then was not great, sitting in the low 500s. I had to deal with a high interest rate of over 20%. Still managed to pay it on time each month and my credit improved. I traded it in to Carvana for a 2017 Corolla with only 7,000 miles. Carvana gave me $16,000 for the Dart. I drove the Corolla and added about 40,000 miles to it before paying it off. The Corolla was worth $11,000 at trade-in and I got this sweet deal.

Wow, I would have kept that Corolla until it couldn’t go anymore. A fully paid off low mileage Corolla is perfect.

The wheels were practically falling off. I had a bad experience with it.

So many people I know have had issues with their Toyotas lately. I wonder if it’s just bad luck or if they’ve really changed that much. Most folks I know are going for Mazdas now and they’ve been great.
@jameshenderson
I only got the Corolla because I was stuck in a non compete agreement and decided to drive for Uber for almost a year to support my family until I could work for a rival. I thought the Corolla would be a good choice, but it got really worn out. Even the paint was coming off. I feel lucky to get $11k for it. It was a very basic model.
@jameshenderson
New Mazdas and Toyotas are made in the same factories now.
@jameshenderson
Yeah, my friend bought a certified Corolla and it turned out to be such a disappointment.
@BushnellRides
So that’s like $11,000 down in reality, right

Well, looking at it like that, yeah you could say that
@BushnellRides
So it’s not technically zero down then?
@BushnellRides
Whoa, that’s surprising
Wow I only pay $207 for my 2018 that I got in 2021 as a certified pre-owned. I go to the Hyundai dealer and they try to get me to upgrade but when I tell them my payment they just say never mind so $241 for a brand new Elantra is really awesome
I was paying $242 a month on a sixty-month loan for my new Elantra. But that was over twenty years ago. Great find!
I had the same experience, right down to all the details except I’m paying $260 a month. Same trim and color and everything, currently just at 784 miles. I love it! Congrats and have fun!
How long is the loan for?

Are you leasing or buying?
I’m guessing it’s a loan since most US leases are for either 36 or 48 months
Looks like I got scammed LMAO
