Every time I brake or go around a corner, the oil light on my 2018 Sonata starts flashing. I’ve already checked and even changed the oil just in case, but the issue is still there. Has anyone experienced this?
When the oil is low, it moves around in the engine, which causes the oil light to flicker when braking or turning. Try topping it up and see if that helps.

I just changed the oil about 10 days ago, though.

Keep an eye out for leaks, but the light usually comes on because of low oil pressure. That’s likely due to the oil level being low.

This happened to me too. Turns out the dealer cracked my oil pan. You should check for any leaks under your car.

Same thing happened to me. The dealer replaced my cracked oil pan under warranty, and I haven’t had any issues since.

That’s worrying. My car did the same thing before the engine failed completely. You might want to get it checked out soon.

Take it to the dealer and ask them to inspect the oil pan for cracks. Mine had to be replaced under warranty.

I had this exact issue. Turned out it was a bad seal on the oil filter. The oil light appeared after five days, and it caused major damage. Add oil immediately and take it to a shop. Avoid quick-lube places like Valvoline. I had a terrible experience with them and now only use Goodyear. They take longer but are more reliable.
The oil light usually flashes when the oil is low. Some cars like these are known for burning oil quickly. Top it up and check the level every few days to see if the light stops.
I’m not a mechanic, but it could be the oil sloshing around and triggering the light. Try adding a bit more oil.
This sounds like it’s burning oil. My car was burning 2-3 quarts every 1000 miles. It’s frustrating.

My 2016 burns about 3 quarts per 1000 miles too. It’s such a pain.
Make sure to keep an eye on the oil level, but it could also be the oil pressure sensor causing the issue. I had a similar problem on my 2016, and replacing the sensor fixed it.
This happened to my 2017 Santa Fe. Oil was leaking from the bottom of the engine and transmission. It turned out to be the rear main seal. At only 100,000 miles, I didn’t expect it. The repair took forever because every shop was booked. My wife’s parking spot still has a huge oil stain as a reminder.
A flashing oil light means low oil pressure. Low oil levels are one cause, but it could also be related to the oil pump. I’d recommend taking it in for service to get a proper diagnosis.
I first noticed my Sonata burning oil when the light started flashing during turns. I’m currently going through the process to see if Hyundai will replace the engine.

I had to deal with that too. It took about a month to get approval from Hyundai. They wouldn’t even give me a loaner car during the wait.
@Austin
I had to wait two months with no loaner. Just got my 2017 back, but now the radio and display screen are acting up.

I’ve never had issues with the radio, but after all this, I’m never buying a Hyundai again.
