Just got my new Kona N Line this week and the key doesn't impress me

You should check Amazon; they have little key fob skins for this. The skin won’t make it feel any less cheap, but compared to the slick plastic feeling it’ll feel a bit rubbery, plus they come in various colors. I bought a black and chrome one for myself and a pastel purple for my wife’s spare key.

@Brown
I’ll check that out. Thanks for the tip

I have the same situation with my 2024 Kona SEL. Before I left the dealership, I set up my digital key on my phone. I use it primarily along with the card key, which I keep in my wallet as a backup or I give to the valet

I lost the key’s plastic cover within an hour, lol

I created a version that includes a lanyard loop.

I made a quick cover using Inventor and 3D printed it. I designed it so it fits snugly and also keeps the key straight.

They’re big, but it never falls out of my purse. I just lock the car using the app.

I don’t use the key either; I just open and start the car with my phone.

Genuine question, are any of them exciting? All I’ve seen looks like this, and you’re right. It’s very plain

I like the lightweight key design

Consider getting the Hyundai NFC card key and you’ll never look back!

Maybe you’ll eventually like it. My first impression is that it doesn’t seem very masculine.

When I first saw one of these keys at the dealership, I couldn’t believe how it felt. It feels like dollar store quality plastic. I have a 2021 Elantra with a switchblade key, and the finish started peeling off right away. It looks way worse than my girlfriend’s key from a 2013 Civic. I doubt these will age well.

They feel extremely lightweight and cheap

I’m not a fan of the physical key being a separate part. It’s too easy to lose the cover of the physical key.

I never use a key, just my phone. The digital key on my phone is the best solution.

You can always get another key and have it programmed

When you look at it with the buttons facing you, it resembles the Hyundai logo

Would you get a case for it?

I bought 2 of these cases, and they provided the weight and feel it needed.
